My Fathers House Visalia

Pam and I pray you are doing well.  Pam is still going to work everyday at the insurance company and I am busy making sure our houses are clean, fixed and in good order.

I cannot change the world, but I can make a safe, clean and Christ centered home for a group of men who would not have a chance otherwise.  40 men are cooking together, cleaning three times a day together, talking, praying, having Bible Studies and uniformly believe nothing is too big for God.  They have seen God do miracles each and every day.

I had to talk with one of our men who panicking over life situation and was suicidal.  Another one of our men went on a drinking binge.  Others have isolated in fear.  One guy sleeps 12 to 16 hours a day.  17 men have lost their jobs and they are not used to doing “nothing”.  Some are missing their families that they cannot see due to the quarantine.  And the majority of our guys are spending more time than they ever had, in prayer.

In our back yard, one guy was seen yelling at God with a fist up in the air. I asked him later what he was doing and he said "praying". I laughed and he laughed. I asked him if God responded and he said yes. God told me "He loved me." The many then said with a smirk, "That was enough. Its ok now.”

Most of our men have had years of past coping tragedies that included getting drunk or high on drugs.  Now that they are new Christians, they are trying a Biblical approach.  Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight...”.  We want our guys to talk honestly about how they feel and there is no condemnation about their concerns. We stress that fear is not of God.  When fear creeps in, I tell our guys to text me immediately for unspoken prayers.  I get about 30 texts a day.

We are blessed to be a blessing to others.

Thank you for your much-needed support,

Kurt Salierno
